University of Indonesia has been named the 80th Best University in the World
University of Indonesia has been named the 80th Best University in the World which has a Broad Impact on the Nation’s Social and Economy through Research, Teaching and Community Service activities. Those rankings released by Institution of University Rankings in the World, Times Higher Education (THE), in World University Impact Rankings 2019 that launched on Wednesday (3/4). World University Impact Ranking is the only ranking Institution that rate university works base on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This rankings also rate the impact that given by university against economy and social through their innovation and discovery. in the first edition, this ranking involved 450 universities in 76 countries in the world.
This University Impact rankings is based on the assessment of the performance of Higher Education in order to fulfill the SDGs determined by the United Nations. THE measure the performance of UI which is considered successful in fulfilling SDG 17.
Rector of University Indonesia Prof.Dr.Ir. Muhammad Anis, M.Met said, “This is the biggest achievement and shows that UI is increasingly known to the global community. UI is committed to present solutions to the problems of the nation through the activities of Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi, namely teaching, research and community service. This ranking also illustrates that a university is able to support the government in fulfilling the Sustainable Development Goals so that it can encourage the spirit of UI academics to be more aggressive in innovating and working in the academic world. ”
