University of Indonesia (UI) received an award as the most productive institution in Indonesia in producing High-Quality Articles in the Health and Medicine Sector. The award was given directly by the Minister of Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia / Head of the Indonesian Research and Innovation Agency (Menristek / Head of BRIN) Prof. Bambang Permadi Soemantri Brodjonegoro to the UI Deputy Rector for Research and Innovation, Nurtami, at the Intellectual Property Rights Award event in Jakarta, Wednesday (11/18/2020).
In addition to awards for UI as an institution, as many as 588 scientific articles written by UI researchers and academics as well as other institutions / institutions throughout Indonesia, have also made it into the ranks of award recipients as authors of high-quality scientific articles in the field of health and medicine.
In the next category, namely high-quality scientific articles in the non-health and medicinal fields, were given to 20 scientific articles written by UI researchers and academics as well as other institutions / institutions throughout Indonesia. Next, the Productive Intellectual Property Rights award was received by 26 proposers.
On this occasion, four UI Scientific Journals also received awards as Indonesian Scientific Journals with International Reputation. The award was given to the International Journal of Technology Publisher FTUI, Publisher Interiority Department of Architecture FTUI, Kesmas – National Public Health Journal Publisher Faculty of Public Health UI and Medical Journal of Indonesia Publisher FKUI.
Then, Journal of Indonesia Law Review Publisher Djokosoetono Research Center, Faculty of Law UI and Indonesian Capital Market Review, Publisher MRC Faculty of Economics and Business UI won an award as a Quality Indonesian Scientific Journal Towards International Standard Indexation. The Intellectual Property Rights Award event is organized by the Ministry of Research and Technology / National Agency for Research and Innovation through the Directorate of Intellectual Property Management. The awarding includes five categories, namely:
Productive Intellectual Property Rights, High Quality Scientific Articles on Health and Medicine, High Quality Scientific Articles on Non-Health and Medicines, Productive Writers, and Quality Improvement of Scientific Journals. On a separate occasion, UI Chancellor Prof. Ari Kuncoro appreciated the research and innovation performance carried out by UI academics.
“With the contribution of researchers, UI academics can contribute to the national innovation research ecosystem so that UI can take part in supporting a competitive and sovereign science-based Indonesia,” he explained in a written statement received by Kompas.com, Thursday (20/11/2020) . In his direction, Prof. Bambang Brodjonegoro said that this event was an effort to encourage the downstreaming of research results and to promote superior research. “Not only that, we want innovation research to be the pride of the nation and the solution to the problems we face,” he explained.
The key to increasing growth, he continued, is in improving the quality of human resources, increasing productivity, increasing investment, and improving the labor market. “Economic growth can be achieved if an innovation-based manufacturing industry is increased. If this is done, the national development vision for 2045 can be realized, “he added.
