Training of Trainers for Lecturers of Intellectual Property Law in Indonesia
The Faculty of Law Universitas Indonesia and the Indonesia Intellectual Property Academy (IIPA) held Training of Trainers (ToT) for Lecturers of Indonesian Intellectual Property Law on the topic “Intellectual Property in the Digital World” on Thursday, November 2018 in the Djokosoetono Hall, FHUI, UI Depok Campus.
This training was motivated by the existence of the 4.0 industrial revolution era which resulted in many businesses being transformed into digital businesses or at least integrated into Indonesian cyberspace. There are various contents protected by Indonesian Intellectual Property Rights which are marketed to foreign companies that rent movies and songs online through digital worlds such as the itunes Store and Netflix.
Therefore, deeper study and understanding by the legal practitioners and intellectual property rights academic community are needed regarding the protection of Intellectual Property Rights for Indonesian citizens that cover their existence in the digital world.
The training was divided into 3 sessions, namely the first session with the theme “Recent Cases and International Law on Software and Game Industry” with three speakers, Prof. Irene Calboli, Dr. Yudho Giri Sucahyo, and Dr. Edmon Makarim, the second session with the theme “Recent Cases and International Laws on Film and Book Publishing Industry” with guest speakers, Raditya Dika, Sheilla Timothy, Dr. Brian Amy Prastyo, and the third session with the theme “Recent Cases and International Laws on Music and Performing Industry” with three guest speakers, Glen Fredly, Irfan Samsons, Prof. Dr. Agus Sardjono., S.H., M.H.
