This shows that sexual violence often is done by the people closest to the victim. Meanwhile, sexual violence that happens in school is about 11 percent and 10 percent at the hotel.
This sexual violence cases, surely, more afflict women with 87 percent of the total. Society of Indonesia Judicial Monitor (MaPPI) Law Faculty of University Indonesia said, 73% of sexual violence happens in Java, 13% in Sumatera, 5% in Papua, 4% in NTB and NTT, 3% in Sulawesi, and 2% in Kalimantan. As a result, this condition is very deemed necessary to make sexual education from an early age very necessary. Other than sexual violence like rape, early-age married is also one of the sexual violence that happens in Indonesia. Secretary-General of Koalisi Perempuan Indonesia, Dian Kartika Sari said, there are still many cases where parents marry their 10-year-old child.
The cases are varied and very complex, even the modes are more sophisticated. This condition further strengthens the assumption that Indonesia is really in danger of sexual violence. In addition to sexual violence against children, the number of rapes in this country is also high. various impacts will arise in the victims.
First thing first, psychological impact of victims of violence and sexual abuse will experience deep trauma. Other than that, stress experienced by victims can interfere with the functioning and development of the brain.
Second, physical impact. Violence and sexual abuse of children are the main factors in the transmission of sexually transmitted diseases. The victim also has the potential to experience internal injuries and bleeding. In some cases, it can cause death.
Third, social impact. Victims of sexual violence and abuse are often excluded from social life. This thing must be avoided because the victim needs motivation and moral support to come up again to live their life.
One of the main causes of increasing cases of sexual violence is easier access to pornography in cyberspace. Because of that, there must be a will and strict control against the cyberspace. Also, an effective moral education and sexual education movement must be provided in schools. Severe penalties that have a deterrent effect must also be applied to the perpetrators.
The rule of law that provides child protection is strong enough. As Undang-Undang No. 17/2016 on Determination of Substitute Government Regulations UU No.1/2016 about second change on UU No. 23/2002 about Child Protection. Unfortunately, the regulation has not been able to provide a deterrent effect.
