Six UI Students Seized Six Awards at Harvard World Model United Nations 2018
Universitas Indonesia successfully brought home six awards at Harvard World MUN competition. Six Universitas Indonesia students won six “Verbal Commendation” awards at Harvard World Model United Nations (World MUN) which was held on March 12, 2018 to March 16, 2018 in Panama City, Panama. The event was hosted by Harvard University. The six students were Laras Thyrza Amandari (FH 2016), Muhammad Naufal Lubis (FT 2014), Edward Candy (FH 2016), Sarah Christine (FKM 2015), Vini Alya (FISIP 2015), Alfredo Andrianto (FT 2014). World MUN is one of the most prestigious UN proceeding simulations in the world followed by over 2000 participants from more than 110 countries annually.
Indonesia also managed to become Assistant Director through a very tight selection. They were Christella Fenisianti (FISIP 2016) as Assistant Director in ASEAN, and Firman Raharjo (FT 2014) as Assistant Director in Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND). Their trip to Panama was also guided by Dr. Arman Nefi S.H., M.M. as Faculty Advisor, as well as Advisor and Founder of UI MUN Club.
The “Verbal Commendation” award is the second highest award given by Harvard University at the Harvard World Model United Nations. The UI delegation is very grateful for the opportunity to bring Indonesia’s name to this prestigious world-class competition.
