Legal Seminar Regarding the Duties and Authority of Bank Indonesia and the Role of Bank Indonesia in the Money Market
The money market has a vital role for the economy. For parties that have a surplus of funds, the money market is one of the important means of investment. Meanwhile, for those who need funds, the money market is one of the important solutions to overcome the problems faced. Likewise for monetary authorities.
The existence and development of the money market, including its tools, is the focus of attention because the money market is an important medium in implementing monetary policy taken.
But compared to the capital market, public understanding of the money market can be said not as popular as the understanding of the capital market. In fact, as is well known, both the money market and the capital market have an important role in the financial markets that shape the financial system in a country.
One example that can be taken is the providing course on financial market in universities. The subject of Investment Law in general is only focused on knowledge about the capital market. While knowledge of money market has not yet been deeply taught by universities to students.
For this reason, Djokosoetono Research Center of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Indonesia in cooperation with Legal Department of Bank Indonesia held a Legal Seminar regarding the Roles and Authority of Bank Indonesia and the Role of Bank Indonesia in the Money Market on Tuesday, December 11 2018 in the Professor and Academic Senate Meeting Room, FHUI, UI Depok Campus .
Presenting speakers, namely Rosmarini Arundati (Head of Legal Development and Legal Information Management Division, Dyah Pratiwi (Head of Legal Advisory for Monetary and Financial Market Division), Agus Susanto P. (Executive Analyst of Legal Development Division and Legal Information Management), and Dr. Miftahul Huda , SH, LL.M. (FHUI’s Lecturer of Securities) and moderated by Nadia Maulisa, SH, MH.
This seminar aims to provide a comprehensive explanation to lecturers and FHUI students regarding the duties and authority of BI in general and also specifically in developing and regulating money markets.
