On 30 October, Armin Cuyvers was invited to give the inaugural lecture of the Europan Legal Studies centre of the Universitas Indonesia, Jakarta.
The lecture was co-organized by the Djokosoetono Research Centre, the Constitutional Law Department and the ASEAN legal studies centre.
In the lecture, Armin Cuyvers discussed the nature of the EU legal order, which hovers between constitutinal law and international law, also in a comparative perspective to ASEAN. The ZOOM lecture was followed by an intensive Q&A of an hour and a half with the more than 150 registered participants, touchin on many interesting and challenging issues including sovereignty, Brexit, and the pitfalls of transplanting EU lessons to other regions and vice versa.
This activity was part of the work of CompaRe, the Leiden Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence on comparative regional integration, made possible by the Erasmus+ prgramme of the EU.
