UI Continues Collaboration with BPPT
The Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between BPPT and its partners, one of which is Universitas Indonesia.
According to Sigit Ribowo, one of the administrators of the Directorate of Collaboration at Universitas Indonesia, said the cooperation between BPPT and UI had actually been long established. The current cooperation can be said to be a continuation of the existing cooperation.
“The collaboration that we do is more about technology development and downstream development in accordance with Universitas Indonesia. There is new cooperation that was carried out yesterday, like with FKM UI in the field of bioinformatics,” he said.
In addition to FKM, he added that cooperation was also carried out with other faculties at UI. Like the Faculty of Engineering UI (FTUI) even faculties from the social fields such as the Faculty of Economics and Business UI (FEB UI), the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UI (FISIS UI), even the Faculty of Law UI (FH UI).
“Of course, the development of technology not only can be done with a stack of technological science, because it also needs social and institutional aspects such as law,” he added.
Overall, the actual collaboration carried out is the utilization of facilities, joint research and collaboration for technology development. This shared utilization is expected to be able to advance research and publications in the future.
Nevertheless, as mentioned earlier, Sigit Ribowo said that not only technology development is prioritized, but other aspects such as the formation of rules to the socialization of the technology itself as well.
To be more technically clear what kind of cooperation is carried out by the faculties, the cooperation will be organized by each respective faculty.
The cooperation between BPPT and UI which took the title “Education, Research and Community Service” usually lasted for five years from the official MoU signed by both parties.
