UI Delegation Brought Home Two Awards from the Harvard National Model United Nations 2018
Competing with dozens of well-known universities from home and abroad, Universitas Indonesia delegation to Harvard National Model United Nations (HNMUN) 2018 succeeded in becoming the only delegation from Indonesia to bring home the award from this prestigious event. The awards were: Diplomatic Commendation Award for I Gde Stithaprajna Virananda and Aurora Maria Sarah Silitonga at Economic and Financial Committee by bringing the topic of Global Access to Financial Services and Diplomatic Commendation Award for Kenneth Nicholas and Dominique Virgil at Legal Committee on the topic of The Protection of Threatened Religious Minority Groups.
The Diplomatic Commendation Award is equivalent to the 4th winner from all participants. The UI delegation is very grateful to be able to bring the name of Indonesia in the midst of highly prestigious competition.
Universitas Indonesia sent seven delegates to the Harvard National Model United Nations (HNMUN) 2018, a UN session simulation held in Boston, Massachusetts, USA on 15 to 18 February 2018. HNMUN is the oldest and most prestigious UN session simulation worldwide and followed by 2700 participants from 69 countries.
The seven students who became the delegation were I Gde Stithaprajna Virananda (FEB 2016), Aurora Maria Sarah Silitonga (FEB 2014), Shinta Wulandari Basuki (FH 2015), Joviana Henza (FH 2016), Kenneth Nicholas (FH 2015), Dominique Virgil ( FH 2015) and Mutiara Annisa Baswedan (FH 2016).
