The Fourth Short Course On Transnational Organized Crime
Monday, February 6, 2017 – Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia (FHUI) again organized a two-week short course in cooperation with Charles Darwin University School of Law, to learn the law enforcement of Transnational Organized Crime in Indonesia. The course that was held on 29 to 10 February 2017 was fourth time and attended by eight students from Charles Darwin University School of Law accompanied by eight FHUI students.
This activity was officially opened by the FHUI Dean Prof. Dr. Topo Santoso, SH, M.H. on Monday (30/1) at Soekardono Room FHUI UI Campus, Depok. For two weeks in FHUI, the students learned from the academicians and professionals in the law enforcement of Transnational Organized Crime and had the opportunity to go in field trips to visit law enforcement institutions in Indonesia. There were several places they visited, such as the office of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the Central Authority of the Directorate General of Legal Administration – Ministry of Law and Human Rights, the Indonesian National Police Headquarters Indonesia, Indonesian Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK), the National Anti Narcotics Agency (BNN) and Depok Religious and Disctrict Courts.
Before visiting the law enforcement institutions, participants learned in class the Indonesian language and legal topics such as judicial review, criminal law, and international treaties, with the lecturers from FHUI.
