UI focuses on being a think tank and solving problems that exist in society. With a focus on three research clusters, namely health research, social humanities and technology science, UI is committed to producing solutions that are beneficial to industry and society.
UI Chancellor Prof. Ari Kuncoro, S.E., M.A., Ph.D said, “This is a big achievement and shows that Indonesia and UI in particular, are increasingly recognized by the global community and remain the best in Indonesia. In the midst of a difficult situation at the moment as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, UI remains committed to providing solutions to the COVID-19 problem through innovation, research and community service activities. The contribution of the teaching staff, researchers, education staff, and students as well as collaborating with industry, government, and society is able to make UI even more rapid and have an impact on the country. “
Even though the COVID-19 pandemic is striking, universities must still open up to the global world. With the current sophistication of information and communication technology, UI academics remain involved in international competitions, expand research collaborations with universities across continents, strengthen university networks through involvement in regional and international associations.
This achievement does not only belong to UI but also the nation’s achievement that higher education in Indonesia has been recognized by the world. As a locomotive for higher education in Indonesia, UI will advance into a university that is able to contribute more to increasing national growth and competitiveness at the global level, promoting innovation and entrepreneurship and overcoming social challenges.
