Public Lecture: Consumer Protection Law in E-Commerce Transactions
https://law.ui.ac.id/kuliah-umum-hukum-pelindungan-konsumen-dalam-transaksi-e-commerce/On Tuesday, 20th April 2021, the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia in collaboration with the Indonesian Consumer Community held a Public Lecture on Consumer Protection Law with the theme “Consumer Protection in E-Commerce Transactions”. This Public Lecture was held to commemorate National Consumer Day 2021. There were more than 100 participants who took part in the Public Lecture which was held through a zoom meeting. Participants not only come from the civitas academica of the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia but also from outsider, and from the general public.This event was opened by the Deputy Dean for Resources, Ventures and General Administration, Mr. Parulian Paidi Aritonang, S.H., LL.M., MPP who welcomed the Public Lecture on Consumer Protection Law in E-Commerce transactions because this is an actual issue, especially with the rapid development of the internet and the rise of electronic commerce.This public lecture presented two prominent speakers in their fields. First speaker is Dr. Henny Marlyna, S.H., M.H., M.L.I., a lecturer in the Consumer Protection Law course at the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia and an expert in consumer protection law issues. The second speaker is Dr. David Tobing, S.H., M.Kn, a senior public advocate and currently serves as Chairman of the Indonesian Consumer Community. This public lecture was moderated by Ayu Galuh Anggraini, S.H., M.Kn. (assistant lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia)In the two-hour public lecture, the two speakers emphasized that consumers today must be careful in making transactions through online media, especially through personal channels. They also suggest the importance of being critical and smart consumers. It should also be underlined that the active role of the government, in this case the Ministry of Trade and other related ministries, is very important as a supervisor. Thus, the concept of protection for consumers and for business actors can be fulfilled.
Public Lecture: Fundamentals of Civil Law in the Germany Bürgerliches Gesetzbuch (BGB)
https://law.ui.ac.id/kuliah-umum-pokok-pokok-hukum-perdata-dalam-burgerliches-gesetzbuch-bgb-jerman/On Wednesday, 27th April 2021, the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia held a Public Lecture on the Principles of Civil Law with the theme “Principles of Civil Law in the German Bürgerliches Gesetzbuch (BGB). This public lecture was delivered by Dr. Ursula Lewenton, Former Judge in Munich and also Judge of the Constitutional Court in Bavaria, Germany. This public lecture was attended by 387 participants through a zoom meeting.Endah Hartati, S.H., M.H. as the Cooperation and Venture Manager of FHUI was present to accompany Dr. Lewenton in this public lecture. The event was hosted by Lauditta Humaira, S.H., M.Kn. as Moderator.This public lecture emphasizes the points of civil law as regulated in German law, regarding the conception of offer and acceptance in agreements, the conception of material security, as well as family and inheritance law. It is known that there are many similarities in the arrangement of the Bürgerliches Gesetzbuch in Germany with the Burgerlijk Wetboek which is still adhered to in the Indonesian Civil Code. Student participation is very active, there are 20 students who actively discuss and ask questions.

CLE FHUI and (PERADI RBA)
Faculty of Law Universitas Indonesia with its Continuing Legal Education (CLE) institution held training in Mediator Certification and Advocate Professional Special Education (Pendidikan Khusus Profesi Advokat). Continuing Legal Education has accreditation as the Mediation Training and Education Organizing Institution based on the Decree 92/KMA/SKVI/2019. Thus, CLE FH UI can organize Basic Mediation Skills Training for the wider community to prepare them to become good and accredited mediators. Moreover, The Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia held a Special Advocate Profession Education (PKPA) for 2 Periods in each year.
