UI Jessup Team again won the National Round of The Phillip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition on Sunday (12/2) at the University of Gadjah Mada (UGM). This year is the 15th competition held by the Indonesian Society of International Law (ISIL) to select the team that will represent Indonesia in the Phillip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition in Washington D.C.
Not only winning the First Prize, UI Jessup team also earned the award of Best Applicant Memorial and 3rd Best Combined Memorial. This achievement is the result of team hard work of Juven Renaldi (2013), Amanda Besar (2013), Anky Banggaditya (2013), Febri Ariadi (2015), and Luther Lie (2015). All members of the team are students at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Indonesia (FHUI) who are active in the International Law Moot Court Society (ILMS) FHUI.
Since its first year, National Round of The Phillip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition has been organized by ISIL. ILMS FHUI has been a regular winner and represented Indonesia in the international round. Their achievement is also due credited to alumni and seniors in ILMS who train and coach them. This year’s coaches are Subarkah Syarifudin, Howard Julio Tigris, and Greita Anggraeni. UI Jessup team made it past the preliminary round and advanced to the quarterfinals against the Parahyangan Catholic University (UNPAR).
From the quarter-finals, UI Jessup team defeated UNPAR, and halting UGM to step forward to semi-finals. Finally, UI Jessup team again won the first prize after defeating Pelita Harapan University in the final round.
