FHUI Team Received a Prestigious Award in Prague
Faculty of Law Universitas Indonesia (FHUI) Vis Mooting team was awarded the champion title at the pre-moot of the 10th Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Prague, Czech Republic on March 11, 2018.
This champion title was obtained by FHUI team after defeating Team Würzburg in the final session. In addition, Ahmad Ramadinan Saptara (FHUI 2016) also earned the title as 3rd best oralist.
In addition to Ahmad, the FHUI Vis Team for Prague consisted of: GPH Bhre Cakrahutomo Wira Sudjiwo (FHUI 2015), Ida Bagus Ayodhya Dirgantara (FHUI 2015), Valerie Irene Patricia Lumanauw (FHUI 2015), Kimberly Chrestella (FHUI 2015), and Clara Anastasia (FHUI 2015).
Vis FHUI team is also accompanied by coaches, Dioputra Ilham Oepangat, ACIArb, Jeremiah Purba, S.H. and Victor Tanojo, S.H. One of the coaches, Dioputra said that the preparation was divided into 2 stages. The first stage was the Memorandum (file) that is drafting and research for Claimant and Respondent which was conducted from October to January.
For the second stage, the Oral Pleading, conducted from January to departure. As an experienced coach who brought FHUI teams to various moot court competitions in the world, he said there were 3 keys to victory when becoming a competitor.
“Hard work, adaptability and mental strength. Those are the main thing,” Dioputra said.
Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (Vis Moot) is a moot court competition organized by Pace Law School, the Vis Moot Foundation and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law.
Pre-moot is a warm-up event for participants to improve their arguments and battles before plunging into the actual Vis Moot event. The pre-moot event was attended by 30 universities from around the world and was one of the most prestigious pre-moot event in Europe.
